
Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Alaska State Board of Education and Early Development will hold a special meeting on January 25, via audio conference. Public participation in the meeting will be through the digital platform Zoom.
The special board meeting will begin at noon. The public is invited to attend this meeting by joining online through the digital platform Zoom or by joining via phone. Connection information is available below:
The purpose of the meeting is to hold a work session and a business meeting.
Topics at the work session include an update on the FY2024 department operating and capital budgets, a legislative update, the Alaska Reads Act Regulations to go out for public comment, a teacher apprentice program board resolution, and board meeting dates.
Topics at the business meeting include considering approval of the board’s annual report to the legislature, the Alaska Reads Act Regulations to go out for public comment, a teacher apprentice program board resolution, board meeting dates, the deputy commissioner, and the December 7-8, 2022 meeting minutes.
The board will take public comments on agenda and non-agenda items on January 25, starting at approximately 12:10 p.m. Oral comment is limited to three minutes per person and five minutes per group. Public comment can be made for this meeting, during this time only.
The board may amend its published agenda. Agenda times are estimates only, and the board may consider agenda items out of order without amending its agenda. The board also reserves the right to adjourn at a time later than estimated on the published agenda.
