CBJ Harbormaster Matt Creswell
Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Docks and Harbors Department now has a harbor security officer on the job to help combat crime in Juneau's harbors.
Harbormaster Matt Creswell said the new employee started work Tuesday night and will work full time, year round providing security at night.
Kenneth Davis worked for the department several years ago as a seasonal harbor technician. He worked in the security position this summer on a trial basis. Creswell said the results were phenomenal and they received great feedback from their customers so they requested the department's board of directors to make it a permanent position.
Creswell joined Docks and Harbors Chair Don Etheridge on Action Line.
