Record low temperatures recorded in Juneau

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau, Eaglecrest and Auke Bay all recorded record low temperatures on Friday night according to the National Weather Service.

Juneau's weather forecast office recorded a low of 18 degrees Friday.  It broke the previous record of 20 degrees set in 2004.

Eaglecrest recorded a low temperature of 20 degrees breaking the old record of 25 degrees set in 2012.

Auke Bay recorded a low temperature of 24 degrees.  It broke the old record of 27 set in 1991.

Hoonah tied its record low of 28 degrees previously set in 1996.

Sitka tied its record low temperature of 29 degrees set in 2012.

Hyder set a new record low of 29 degrees breaking the old record of 30 degrees set in 2012.

Forecasters predict the first measurable snow in parts of the listening area today. 

Juneau is expected to see under one inch, Gustavus and Petersburg up to one inch, Haines up to five inches and Skagway up to four inches today.
