Kenai, Alaska (KINY) - An 82-year-old Kenai resident was pronounced deceased at the Central Peninsula Hospital after his car slid on the Sterling highway.
Soldota-based State Troopers responded Tuesday evening at about 6:50 to a report of a single-vehicle rollover near mile 115 Sterling Highway.
An investigation found that 82-year-old Eugene Darby of Kenai was northbound on the Sterling Highway and upon entering the “S” curve at mile 115, his 2004 Ford F250 lost traction and slid across the highway and into the southbound ditch where the vehicle overturned.
Darby was transported to Central Peninsula Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Troopers report that no alcohol or drugs are suspected.
