Juneau adds 34 cases of COVID Sunday

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services report 13,012 total resident cases and 1,052 nonresident cases have been confirmed during the pandemic.

They reported 526 new cases on Sunday.

In addition to the 34 new cases in Juneau, Anchorage added 193 cases, Fairbanks 65, Wasilla 49, Palmer 18, Soldotna 17, Chevak 16, Eagle River 13, Bethel Census Area 11, Kenai 11, North Pole 10, Bethel nine, Kotzebue eight, Utqiagvik seven, Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area five, Homer three, Houston three, Kenai Peninsula-North three, Sitka three, Tok three, Valdez-Cordova Census Area three, Big Lake two, Chugiak two, Dillingham two, Fairbanks North Star Borough two, Kodiak two, Nome Census Area two, Skagway two, Sterling two, Willow two, and one case each in Bristol Bay, the Lake and Peninsula Boroughs, Delta Junction, Dillingham Census Area, Douglas, Girdwood, Healy, Hooper Bay, Kenai Peninsula-South, Ketchikan, Kusilvak Census Area, Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Nome, Northwest Arctic Borough, Prince of Wales-Hyder Census Area, Seward, Southeast Fairbanks Census Area, Valdez, and Yakutat-Hoonah-Angoon.

The alert level remained high in Juneau with 22.11 cases per 100,000.

Other southeast communities remained at low risk at 3.23 cases per 100,000.

The state reported 58 patients are hospitalized with COVID-19.

The average percentage of daily positive tests for the previous week is 6.32 percent.

There were six nonresident cases reported on Sunday.
