Craig, Alaska (KINY) -The Craig City Council will hold a first reading Thursday of an ordinance that would exempt first responders from sales tax.
City Administrator John Bolling told News of the North the two full-time, and one part-time position would be eligible.
Some volunteers, such as EMTs, would be eligible if they respond to a sufficient number of calls annually.
The exemption would apply to all goods and services purchased in the city.
City council meetings have limited seating capacity due to COVID-19 protocols.
